Shelby Shocks is a Los Angeles-based DJ and tastemaker known for sets that move between euphoric indie dance, soulful house, and psychedelic textures. Her sound is rooted in feel-good music with attitude: soulful vocals, heavy basslines, and a command of energy that keeps crowds locked in from open to close.

Her taste runs deep. A lifelong obsession with music spanning gospel soul, Nina Simone-era jazz and blues, classic rock, and new wave has shaped an ear that most DJs simply do not have. She is a crate digger at heart, constantly hunting for rare and forgotten records and weaving them alongside new sounds in a way that feels both fresh and deeply familiar. That cross-generational musical fluency is what gives her sets their character: melodies and moments that connect because they are rooted in something real.

Her performances range from festivals including Elements Music Festival, which draws up to 30,000 attendees, to Burning Man's most notorious art cars, international underground events, and clubs throughout Los Angeles and around the world. In January 2025, she co-founded The Fold, a Los Angeles music collective built around curated events, live streams, and Hush Hush, an invite-only party series featuring some of the city's top DJs and musicians.
